So what do you think?

Now that you've had a chance to explore blogs. I want to know your thoughts...How are other educators using blogs with students? How are educators using blogs professionally? How can you change what you do to impact how students connect to your curriculum using this tool? Fire away...

Honestly, I haven't seen any teachers blogging to actually tell you what I have seen. I feel blogging will be very beneficial to my classes and myself because of the limited time I see them during the week as a class. They will be able to communicate their thoughts and feelings better on what we are studying. By having a blog, this will give me the flexibility of communicating better to my classes.

I think that the blog could be a great tool to use as a discussion board for science exp. or concepts. Students are excited to have a reason to access the web, and my guess is that a lot more "homework" would get turned in or completed if it was in a blog response than paper/pencil.

I have not had the chance to see any teachers blogging yet. I'm sure there are many but have not heard or actually seen any. I see my classes for such a short amount of time during the week. By blogging, this will give me the opportunity to communicate more often with them and let the students communicate their thoughts and feelings on what we are studying.

Blogging seems to be a universal tool that we could use in all academic subjects. This would be a unique way to monitor literature circles in Reading or discuss lab results in Science. I'd love to do some writing, too. I can't wait!!!

I would very much like to incorporate blogs, but struggle as to where to fit it in and how much time it will take for me outside of the classroom. My biggest challenge is to find a balance between what is being taught and how the blogging supports it. I definitely agree that it will help the "quiet" students to become more vocal.
